My name is Sarah Di Fausto, and I am both a copywriter and a translator specialised in transcreation. You can learn more about me here.
Buondì, or Moin moin!
As a German-Italian native speaker, I grew up in two worlds: I spent my childhood near Rome, where history and traffic chaos are as much a part of everyday life as small talk with the barista over an espresso. In 2000, my family and I moved to the cooler climate of Hamburg, where I quickly realised that people were different but just as warm.
How it all began…
Through my two homes, I have learned what language can effectuate. That was one of the reasons I decided to study translation. After graduating, I worked as a content and PR specialist in the gaming industry for three years. There, I created exciting content for PR and advertising campaigns and learned what it takes to produce good stories.
There is a whole world behind a language
Since 2013, I have been working as a freelance copywriter and translator. I translate from English, Portuguese and Italian into German. To keep up with the latest linguistic developments, I regularly travel to the countries where my working languages are spoken. For me, travelling is the best way to experience the country and its people. This enables me to identify what moves the respective target groups and how I can optimally adapt their message to the German market.
